This course has two parts: (I) What is the scientific method? What is scientific literature? How do I find, recognize and manage scientific literature? (II) Statistics, in particular regression analysis. Part I weighs about 20%,  Part II about 80% of the course (in terms of course time).

An overview of different sustainability topics with an emphasis on (but not limited to) physical science aspects, such as the physical science basics of climate change (including: how is it detected, how is it modeled), forest management, decline of insect populations, mine rehabilitation, indoor air quality and more.  Guest speakers are experts in their fields, doing research and/or practical work therein.
